Harry Potter Fans: Which Hogwarts and Dumbeldore (movie version) was your favorite?

SmartWahter asked:

If you’ve seen all the Harry Potter movies, you’ll know that the first two movies’ scenery is very different from the third one on.

Which one do you feel matched the books more?

In my opinion I preferred the first two movies’ version because it matched well and looked Hogwarts looked warm and friendly.

Hagrid’s hut wasn’t all the way down a hill with stairs, it was supposed to be just outside the front area right in front of the Forbidden forest…right?

I assumed the Owlry (as seen in the 4th movie) would be attached to the castle..not all the way across a long bridge. I’d hate to have to deliver an important letter during a snow storm…

I’m not saying that the new scenery is bad, I still like it it’s just…why’d they change it so dramaticly?
———-

Then there’s Dumbeldore. I’m still kind of in the middle. I liked the first one because he looked like I could tell him anything and he’d still have that smile like it would be okay… but in the 5th book and what not he didn’t seem the type who’d do the stunts as in the book..

The new Dumbledore also looks good but I feel like he wouldn’t be as warming….

Just want opinions..I dunno if my examples even make sense to the question…

I like the new Dumbledore and I like both sets.
Both Dumbledores were great, the the first one seemed kind of old and a lot weaker, I couldn’t imagine him in any battles or anything.

I love harry potter but I have to say that they movies had nothing on the books. The books were in my opinion a lot less dark. So I prefer the books to the movies anyday.

I understand what your examples are saying, and I agree with you wholly. Richard Harris was absolutely the best Dumbledore. It’s such a shame that he had to die right in the middle of the series. I don’t think they could have found anyone better than Harris, save MAYBE Ian McKellen. Unfortunately, Sir McKellen seemed unavailable for the films.

As for the movies themselves, I’ve always said that the Chamber of Secrets is the most accurate according to the books. Everything from the Quidditch, to the Polyjuice Potion, and even the basilisk were right on target, as it pertained to my vision.

Overall, the first Dumbledore, and the second film were the epitome of the series regarding accuracy of the literature.
